Tasks Completed

  • Held a meeting with the strategy team members and came up with another "final" design
    • "Final design" will include just THREE joysticks!
    • Two joysticks for the drivetrain and one for the arm and manipulator
  • Manipulator movement will be controlled by the thumbstick on the third controller
  • The remaining LEDs on the control buttons were soldered.
  • Powered on FOUR of the controllers using the the bot usb hub. Each logitech USB joystick only draws 100mA. Not sure how much current the saitek joystick draws.
  • Determined that we will have both presets on controller and off to the right side. This allows different users to feel comfortable with the controls and may make it easier to demo.
  • The layout will be a surfboard type!

Tasks In Progress

  • We are currently laying out center to center positions for some of the buttons and the actual board. It will be in inventor format.

Tasks to Complete

  • We need to finalize our dimensions to produce a cad file
    • We need to prototype our controls in sheet metal.
    • We need to determine specific I/O for our cypress board.
    • We need to finalize button layout functions on the right hand side.
  • We need to determine cable management.
