Integration Notes – 1/8/09
Mechanical 1:
-drivetrain will be wide-based with wheels near rear
• 1x2 or 1x3 collectiong/conveyor
• will go up conveyor and then to hopper or out top (similar to team 16 & robot 4)
• Chicken plucker thinger gathering device protoyped- both as collection and projection- SUCCESS!
• Worked on possible jams in hopper later on- brushes/other things (rollers), figure 8 chaining for conveyors
• Need to decide whether to separate collection and bringing up devices
• Looked at conveyor parts & costs on McMastercarr
Mech 2:
• Talked to groups about spacing and weight
• Started mock up in Inventor
• Started Inventor spacing
• Finish robot design spacing/model design
• Start building
Drivetrain:
• Offset wheels back
• Basic Chassis assembled
Electrical:
• Motor spec review
• Picked out best motors for conveyors
-Create Inventor Mock up
Needs-
-Mechanical Motor for each conveyor belts? Free spinning or limited motion?
-Drivetrain Dimensions
Programming:
-High level low level programming
-Needs to know what motors to use
-Working on Autonomous modes
-Needs a brainstorming from Strategy team
-Getting a sensor list together
-Needs people to update wiki for robot design
-Incorporate sensor mounting in design
Controls:
-Research
-CAD modeling to OI
- Testing with dashboard
-Thinking about incorporating laptop into controls
Needs:
-A general idea of things on the robot
-A list of the potential drivers for meeting
