2009:Mechanical 3.1.2009
Progress update 3-1-09
Meet from noon till 5:00pm. Heard some folks came at 11:00 or 11:30 and then went home - sorry we were not clear.
Completed the shaft master layout templates for spacing, helix type and dounuts. Then completed F2 (front second level) and it looks great. Weight with collars just under 1 1/4 lbs.
Cuylar and Shauna did prep work on the others (drilling, precutting plucker tubes, preping the 10-32 screw sections, etc).
The matched set of 9 long front belts were made. The rear are almost complete - 3 more to do. We should think about spares? We have the older style front belts that we can cut and 2 piece them together for spares (2 each?)
Alex worked on a plexi chain guard - Not sure which location (upper shooter?)
Mike Wolf / Tom K - requester some eye bolt hardware for cable braces / ball containment) - Tom C. will pick up at H-Depot.
Eric brought the new trailer - team inspection - we approve. Trailer hitch, locks, keys on the center table in shop.
To Do List - Next Mtg 3-2-09 (5:30 - 7:30 or 8:00)
1. Finish R2 and R3 (top)shaft rollers - making dounuts and winding helix
2. Finish F4 (top) and F3 (idler) rollers- making dounuts and winding helix
3. Make the two spare nylon bushings (lathe work)
4. Make 3 more rear upper belts to complete the 9 piece matched set.
5. Decide what level of motor transmission components we are bringing into RIT - if we have the available weight, it might be in our best interest to complete the pinon transformation process now.
6. Finalize Mr Wolf's list of the RIT tasks, in what order and who is trained to do it.
7. BILL of MATERIALS!!!
